1 out of 5 stars Busted in tests!   November 2, 2008
1 out of 1 found this review helpful

We purchased 4 of these, then set up a clear acrylic test box with outlets in each side.
We then put 50 roaches in the box, plugged in a unit, ensured it was indeed powered on and watched.
The roaches not only didn't mind the unit, were not repulsed by the unit, they crawled all over it just as much as they crawled anywhere in the box.

We plugged in each unit and repeated the test with the same results.
The roaches didn't run, didn't try to avoid, didn't do anything but keep right on crawling where they wanted to despite four units working in a box two foot square.

1 out of 5 stars A ripped off   October 29, 2008

We bought this product just to try it. It infected our house with croaches we did not have before and on top of it the foreigner in charge of this business would not return our money. Never buy from this people. They are not honest people . We had to hire a pest control company to get ready of this croaches that have invaded our home it was simply horrible.
We never had this before ever in this house, we just controlled ants with the raid aid thing and that was it. But I decided to try this not to have all those black plastic which were not cute and look what we have got, hundreds of these horrible things everywhere.
IT DOES NOT REPEL INSECTS IT ATTRACTS INSECTS NO MATTER WHAT THEY SAY

1 out of 5 stars Defective Riddex damaged my electrical system   October 22, 2008

Shortly after plugging Riddex into my outlet, the entire electrical circuit stopped working. I did not simply blow a fuse; switching the fuse didn't help. Riddex customer service did not convey any concern about the danger that their defective product could pose to consumers. They didn't want to listen to the problem that I had experienced; they just wanted to get me off their customer support line. This is a review of Riddex Pro Pest Repeller. It could damage your electrical system, so I would not recommend buying it.

1 out of 5 stars Don't waste your money - Useless   October 15, 2008

I brought a couple of these a few months ago for a rodent issue. PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. While I have not had a bug issue - the rodents dance around these like they are not there. I live in NYC where rodents are an issue - even if you keep your house super clean you will have them. I finally went out and got the Victor Electronic Mouse Trap which does a better job of handling the problem.

5 out of 5 stars it works!!!   October 14, 2008

The concept of electronic pulses through your wiring to get rid of pests was something I saw on an infomercial almost 6 years ago.

Back then I was living in Escondido, CA and my roommates and I had a roach issue. So I bought 1 pest offense, only to find out that it didn't do much. So I figured it wouldn't work on bugs, but only animals.
My parents had a mouse problem, in Billings, MT, so I sent it to them. But it didn't do anything.

Now fast forward to 2008. I live in Manhattan now with my wife. Anyone who lives in Manhattan knows about the mouse problem. Out of desperation I tried the electronic pulse concept again about four months ago. But this time I bought the riddex pro brand because it came with 2 for the price of 1 pest offense.
Believe it or not it works. No mice. No mice droppings. AND no roaches either (an extra bonus!).

The problem was not having enough units. I think the information says one unit will cover 1000 sq feet. I disagree. My apt in Escondido, CA was about 800sq feet, but 1 unit obviously didn't do enough. Our apt. in Manhattan is closer to 1000 sq feet and two units actually did the trick.
Just to be uber-safe, I actually bought 2 more units recently, so now I have four in our apt (two at the perimeter and two inbetween).

I wish I could tell you how much effect it has on our electric bill, but I don't know exactly. I don't believe it jacked the price that much, and trust me, to be roach and mouse free is worth it!
