does not work well with windows vista September 13, 2008 works with XP OK, but behave strange with vista. Basically, I use it for automatic backup. When I use it with XP, it automatically creates backs up everything, the same size of folders. With vista, the back-uped folder size is different even though the content might be the same. It also reverse backs up things, which is very annoying. but still better than nothing.
FreeAgent Go 250 Review September 5, 2008 I had been using the 160 GB and 120 GB versions at my office for the past six months. I used the drive to carry Virtual Machines (VMs) back and forth from home to work. I liked that the drive was powered by USB and didn't need external power. It is quiet and I almost never heard anything from it. I was taking the device on a weekly flight from San Francisco to Los Angeles. It is holding up well with a lot of use and movement.
My wish list would contain that they produce a faster drive (7200 or 10K RPM).
Good, sleek drive September 4, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
One of the first things I noticed is that it has a Y cable for connection. Meaning, on some computers you need to plug both into two USB slots for the drive power up. Funny thing is, if I connect the drive to my desktop (2003 Dell), I need to plug both into separate USB slots. But in my Dell laptop, I can plug in only the cable which has "Power+Data" written on it. How will you know ? well, if the drive isn't getting enough power, it makes a slight noise and it won't get auto detected in XP.
Connections aside, the drive is quite noiseless. You won't even know it's connected except for the orangish light at the side.
For me Ceedo is something I don't need. I just encrypted the whole drive with TrueCrypt.
I have had bad experiences with backup programs before. So I just stick to Rar'ing my stuff and dumping it in the TrueCrypt.
How much more security do you need ?
If you haven't heard of TrueCrypt,
check it out here http://www.truecrypt.org/

I like one year warranty, too.
Perfect! August 26, 2008 Plug and Play, Really!
This HD took a couple of minutes to gain recognition during the first connection, but works quickly every time after that. Great product!
