OUTSTANDING June 19, 2007 This has to be one of the best CD's that I have heard in a while....I pop it in when I am cleaning the house and listen to it in the car on the expressway. What a variety!!! ....because of Ne-Yo, I have been busted singing in the car, shower, and at the office. It is about time an artist releases a cd with hit after hit after hit. You can put it in and play it straight through. THANKS, NE-YO....see you at Six Flags on Thursday!
You got me good June 7, 2007 I was expecting the entire CD, instead, I got 2 songs. I wanted to listen to one particular song only and I didn't get that one. I was so disappointed that, I had every intention of sending it back for a refund. Ne-yo's cd is not what I would buy and to only get 2 songs is a slap in the face. A waste of my good money. I won't do this again.
Pretty good songwriter. March 27, 2007 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Ne-Yo is one of many Michael Jackson clones saturating the radio right now (of who there's too many to list). But what sets him apart is that he not only sings pretty competently, he also writes his own songs. There's still not enough there in vocal distinguishability to carve out a niche for him in contemporary R&B. But what he lacks in originality, he makes up for in infectiousness. Obviously influenced by Michael Jackson, Ne-Yo delivers his songs with an airy, breathy style that's sure to get you wondering, "Who's singing that?" upon the first few bars. I like this song. It's simple and has a gorgeous, multi-harmonal bridge that's reminiscent of MJ's early days. The only thing I don't like about the song is the name of the song. Ne-Yo, of all people, should know that this name was already taken. Marques Houston used it for TWO (count 'em... two) songs already. It should had either been called "So Strung Out" or "Sweetest Drug". But it's a nice, Springy song to listen to in your car with the windows down.
