Canon MP620 Wireless Photo Printer January 9, 2009 After getting through the set up software, this printer has worked without any problems. It's extemely easy to set up different paper sizes, and the printer menu is pretty easy to follow. I have had some issues with my laptop not being in range of the printer, but this week I'm upgrading my wireless equipment. I don't think it's the fault of the printer. Printing from a memory card is easy. The flip screen has adequate resolution to view photos then print them. Overall, I recommend this printer due to it's great printing quality, ease of use, and great value when on sale.
Great Value for money January 8, 2009 The performance and price of the MP620 make it a great buy. Wireless set-up is pretty straightforward if you follow the step by step instructions...which I only did because some reviewers had problems with set-up!
There seems to be a lot of bulky software that you will probably never use included on the CD and the scanning options seem limited. However, for a home user this machine produces FANTASTIC quality photos and will scan, print and copy in good time. A little bulky, but the fact that it is wireless and the paper tray is stored underneath keeps everything tidy.
I have owned and used several all-in-one machines and this one so far appearsa among the best for this price range...time wuill tell but right now I would definitly reccomend this to anyone doing more than printing a few documents occassionally.
Wireless setup with Mac v10.5 January 8, 2009 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
So far so good! Photographs look great, the print speed is pretty fast. I have tried scanning and copying, and both work well. My only problem initially was setting up the wireless feature with my Mac. The directions are fine, but the troubleshooting advice is not. There will come a point where your Mac is supposed to "find" the printer, the printer's name should appear in a list, and then you click "add" to add it to your computer. Well, the printer was not showing up on the list! If my USB was plugged in, the printer showed up. Once unplugged (as it's supposed to be during wireless setup), no printer in the list. After searching the web I found advice that worked. Click your Apple logo, go to System Preferences, Security, Firewall and change the setting to "Set access for specific services and applications." Now the printer should show up on the list and you can finish setup.
Hope this helps!
Good Printer January 8, 2009 I bought this printer a couple weeks ago and set it up last week. The setup took about an hour and that includes the time it takes to download the software. It's pretty straightforward, but I have set up printers before, so that may have helped my case. I will say that I was startled by how large this printer is. I had an all-in-one HP printer before this one and it was much more compact, so it kind of took me by surprise (I did not pay attention to dimensions on the product details when I bought this). It's no big deal, just an observation. I had no problem setting up the wireless printing and the quality of prints seem excellent. All in all, I give it 4 stars since it's so soon and I want to see how long it will last before I reward 5 stars!
Spectacular Printer January 7, 2009 WOW, the prints from this printer are AWESOME. I have had HP and Lexmark printsers, and none of them compare to this one. The prints are so vivid that they almost look 3-D. The color is more realistic than any I've done myself before. I think the prints are even better than your local photo developer. Glad I purchaced it, best printer, by far, that I've ever had. At the optimum print out, the resolustion is 9600 X 6000, head and shoulders above the 4800 X 1200, and it shows. I also like the footprint of this one, with built in paper tray, and if you start the printer without the tray open, it opens automatically, so when not in use, it looks great.
