Worth Buying January 9, 2009 Sorry, I'm not much for words, but I do recommend that you consider buying this little jewel. I even listen to the radio on it sometimes, and it picks up stations fairly well as long as you use the headphones for an antenna.
The battery seemed to drain a bit faster than the 1 Gig model I bought last year, but maybe it just needs to be discharged and re-charged a few times to extend the battery life - just guessing.
The firmware update software is easy enough to use (you'll find it at the sandisk web site), and I highly recommend it, but dial-up connections may have to wait fifteen to twenty minutes for the search and download to complete. Plus, you have to disconnect the unit from the PC for the firmware to install itself.
You'll need MS Media Player 10 or 11 to sync MP3s on it, and to charge it as well.
It comes with a built-in equalizer, and the sound is above average in my opinion. I ought to know, I listen to some expensive audio gear.
Bargain! January 9, 2009 It's easy to use. I like the size, weight, clip and the fm tuner (I can't do without it). I do not know why people would buy an ipod over this (all I can think of is ignorance - buying a name?)!
Really great January 8, 2009 Got it for cheap, does exactly what i want it to do, and does it well. Plus its small. What more could I want?
Great Tiny MP3 Player January 8, 2009 It doesn't have a lot of extras - no video player or color display - but it works great and it's very small and light. It's only slightly larger than the Ipod Shuffle, but unlike the Shuffle, it does have a display for the track title. Adding songs is easy - just plug it in to the computer using a standard USB cable (not the proprietary cable many of the Sansa's use), open Windows Media Player, and drag songs onto the sync list.
Also, this is the first MP3 player I have owned that is actually comfortable to wear. The belt clip keeps it in place, even on lightweight running shorts, and I barely even notice it's there. (Most other MP3 players I've had either had a neck strap or arm strap - both uncomfortable.)
This was exactly what I needed for running without paying for a bunch of extras I don't use.
A great little mp3 January 8, 2009 I received it about a month ago. It is my first mp3 player. Unfortunately I miscalculated my requirements and I bought a 4 gb, when I needed at least a 16 gb one. Nevertheless the sound is great, even during my morning jogging. Great FM radio reception. I wish it had a shuffle option.
