1 out of 5 stars Terrible sound quality and fit   January 8, 2009
Maybe I'm one of those odd people whose ears the normal iPhone headphones fit just fine.

I bought these to get a cheaper replacement to the headphones that I misplaced.

But they don't fit: they kept falling out of my ears. Even with the various size adaptors.

I read some reviews, figured they were by audiophiles, and figured I wouldn't notice, but the sound quality *is* awful. So weak I couldn't use them for talking on the phone, and so tinny listening to music was unbearable, even with the various EQ settings.

If you're just looking to replace your iPhone headset, just pay the extra $10 for the Apple ones. That's what I did after I bought these.

1 out of 5 stars Went through two pairs in 3 months   January 4, 2009
I've gone through two pairs of these and the same thing happen both times: After about a month of use, the left earbud stopped working. The connection by the mini stereo jack seems to come loose.

I took good care of them, well as good as can be expected. Earbuds are meant to be stuffed in your pocket after all. These cannot handle basic wear and tear.

1 out of 5 stars good while they lasted ... about a month   January 1, 2009
Had decent sound and fit, but two consecutive pairs only lasted about a month of normal use, both shorting out at the jack/wire connection. I expect a bit better than that, even from $20 earbuds.

3 out of 5 stars Washer Proof?!   January 1, 2009
I've owned a few dozen earbuds since first buying an iPod five years ago and then an iPhone a little more than a year ago. Apple's over priced earbuds ($30) aren't worth the price. They don't last very long for the active and everyday user. I've easily spent $120 on those damn earbuds since I've had an iPhone. The Griffin TuneBuds are a lot better, IMO, and cost 33% less. The sound is much better and the snug fit, of the three different size earbud cushions, helps at low volumes. I've only got two cons about the Griffins. First is that at the connection point of the wire and the audio plug, the wire started to fray almost immediately. Within days the wire was exposed. I had to put a small piece of black electrical tape on it before they where ruined but that resolved the problem. Hopefully Griffin will correct that. Second, is that the click button used to start/stop music and answer/hang-up phone calls is a little hard to find by touch. If they would just increase the size of the button/notch it would be much easier to find in a hurry. Oh, and as mentioned in the title, my wife washed my Griffins earbuds in my uniform pockets and after drying for a few hours the mic and speakers seem to be working just fine. I wouldn't do it on purpose but so far (3 days and counting) so good.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent sound quality   December 31, 2008
By far the best sound quality of any earphones I tried so far (under $50). Excellent reproducing of high and low ends sounds. Just make sure to use the largest earbuds that can fit your ears for best bass. A huge contrast to the crapy earphones that Apple provides, which not only can't stay in the ears, but sounds like a phone quality unless you push and hold them deep in your ears.
