Great speakers for the price. January 8, 2009 I have an older Sansa MP3 player (c240) which I have been trying to find accesories for. This is the only set of speakers capable of docking my player, so I finally broke down and bought it. I must say I'm glad I did. I was pleasantly surprised by the sound quality and ease of use. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is that the remote can't do as much as I would like. It controls the bass, volume,"surround sound", and will skip through songs; however, I still have to control the menu features (such as picking a song by name, band, etc) with the MP3 player itself. Still, all in all, it's nice to have music in the house again.
Worth getting for a Sansa January 5, 2009 I own a Sansa View, which I love and use daily. I decided to look into a speaker dock to expand the capabilities of my View and came across reviews for the Altec Lansing IM413.
It took me awhile to go ahead and purchase one, but I am glad that I did. While I can't give it an excellent rating, it is well worth getting if you want to be able to listen to your Sansa product with more than just earbuds.
My regular CD player is starting to bite the dust and I mostly purchase MP3's now anyway - so decided this was worth a try. While the sound isn't as robust as my CD boom-box type player, I am certainly satisfied.
It could be louder, but I have it in a small room so that hasn't been a problem. The FM wire is awful and why they couldn't have just used telescoping antenna is a mystery. I just taped mine up behind the unit. I don't listen to the radio at home anyway. Still, that was a cheesy move by Altec. The remote works fine...but not for all functions.
If I had my lists of re-designs it would be to add a clock/alarm along with fixing the above issues.
Regardless of those things, I am happy I bought this unit, it serves my purposes. It also recharges my View. That was a big thing for me as when I first got my View I didn't have a computer with USB 2.0.
I also get more use out of my Playlists. I have ones I listen to during the day while on my computer, and even ones that I put on while sleeping. The IM413 can be played real low and the lights shut off after a minute or so.
So for me, it's been a good purchase. True I might like an IPOD Classic someday with a BOSE system, but for now this works well.
Awesome item and very happy... January 4, 2009 This is a great item to have. Very easy to use and I had it set up and playing within minutes. Very clear sounding with good bass response. Must have for any Sansa Mp3 owners. The remote control is a great feature as well...
Good product but not excellent December 31, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
The unit is pretty good. The volume could be louder however. I would have also liked to see some more added value such as a clock, etc. The remote is limited and does not have a lot of the sansa features. The plus is the size and fact that it works with the Sansa. It looks really nice as well. It could be used for the kitchen while cooking, take it to the beach, or listen to it in the garage. If I would price this unit, I would say it was a $35.99 value not more or less.
Great deal on Sansa station December 28, 2008 Purchased this for my wife for Christmas. We both really love this portable audio docking station. The price can not be beaten. Thanks.
