2 out of 5 stars Good features but needs to be factory reset often, unreliable!   December 1, 2008
I've had this head unit for almost a year now, the first 6 months were really good. The unit has some great features and it's priced well.. I was happy, then one day it wouldn't tune in my favorite FM radio stations. All my presets just wouldn't tune in.. there was nothing but static. I was confused because it just happened.. with no apparent reason and other stations would still come in fine. After playing with the unit and trying to figure it out, a buddy suggested I try to reset the head unit (a small button behind the face plate) and sure enough... that did it, I could receive my favorite channels again. I reset it and all was good for about a month.. and then it happened again.. and again.. and again. I can't go a week now without the unit freezing up and forgetting how to tune stations in. I wish I would have bought a less sophisticated unit and went with something more reliable.

3 out of 5 stars Could be better, but...   November 24, 2008
I would give it 4 stars, unfortunately I'm not really liking how the the tuner automatically tries to tune in HD stations if it detects the signal on the channel your listening to.

This means when you tune a station if it detects an HD signal it will automaticaly switch to HD mode. If the signal fades while in HD mode it automatically switches back to analog. While this sounds good in theory, it's actually really annoying and sounds pretty bad.

They should have a switch or setting to disable this. HD sounds great, but not when it's switching back and forth between signals on it's own. I'd rather listen to a bit of static than the breakup as it keeps changing. Let me choose the signal to use.

Other than that, the radio seems pretty good for the money. Sounds better than my OEM. Probably has more features than I'll actually use, but I figured for the cost I'd give it a try.

Also, I found my radio doesn't seem to recognize disc's I make with Nero, but if you use the built in Windows burning software in XP, it works just fine. There's probably a setting I need to change in Nero, but it's easy enough to drag, drop and burn the MP3's to a blank disk with Windows Explorer. I like that I can get way more MP3's on a disc than just burning a regular music CD.

5 out of 5 stars Great Radio   November 22, 2008
Great Radio for the price does everything as advertised, received the radio in 2 days

5 out of 5 stars Best deal going   October 30, 2008
When the obsolete aftermarket CD player in my van didn't want to let go of an old CD I decided to update to something that had an aux in. I've been using a cassette adapter in my 90s Taurus and like taking my Archos or using my Blackberry. I almost bought several decks as links took me to successively better units for $100. Finally I landed on this deck with aux in, USB, bluetooth ready and HD radio. Did someone actually complain you need a bluetooth adapter? Right. I can't find any deck with this feature set at three times the price and I love the remote. I got the bluetooth adapter and it works flawlessly. My only complaint is not being able to get the display on time with the AV mode on. The bluetooth adapter works great for stereo sound and sounds better than the built in system in a new Ford that has horrible echo from lousy noise cancellation... but then that system is designed my Microsoft so you expect it to be garbage. Dual got it right with an incredibly cheap atermarket add on.

I like this deck so much I am buying another with the bluetooth adapter for my car. When you consider I can get web radio and XM radio on my Blackberry and this thing sounds great in HD, MP3, USB and everything else I am in total luxury. Oh, one other minor thing is you do have to pair with it again when you switch drivers. Get this and don't look back. The price is dropping and it remains without compare.

5 out of 5 stars AWESOME RADIO   October 12, 2008

This is a really awesome radio. Loaded with features well worth the money, and not to forget about the 50 dollar rebate. But it cost me about $130 total after installation and all the taxes after rebate.
This thing can play music with usb which is pretty hard to find in other head units. The HD radio works well, this is my first time using HD radio. Also it's bluetooth ready, but don't confuse that with bluetooth capable, it stil needs a bluetooth adaptor for that to work. You already know all the features so here are some things to note about this radio before purchasing though:

    CONS:
    1. Reception could be better, my stock radio could maintain a good reception in underground parking lots and parking structures, I get static with this one at times.
    2. The interface is alittle weird, well a little crammed, when you try to tune to oter stations or skip to the next track you'll often adjust the volume dial while driving and hitting bumps on the road.
    3. When tuning into hd stations it takes a few seconds to connect (but i'm pretty sure all HD radios do)
    4. Wish it displays elasped time and track number at the same time (you have to view them separately, and manually)

That's about it. I'm very happy with it either way and the con's weren't enough for me to give it less than 5 stars. When I tell my friends "HEY I got a new headunit installed in my CAR!!" the first thing they ask is "really? what brand?", i tell them "Dual electronics!" and they're like... "whats that?!" ......... LOL
But i'm proud to have it installed, but just be prepared for that!
    Hope this will help someone
