Comfy case for MP3, Cell Phone or Flip Camera February 13, 2008 I bought this case for my cell phone, but have ended up modifying it just a bit to use my Flip Video Camera with. It fits the Flip Video Camera perfectly! The sliding on/off switch is totally accessible and then I cut holes in the front of the case for the camera lens and mic pick up, then attached D rings on the side of the case to clip a neck strap to. I can wear it around my neck, videotape at the perfect height and catch all kinds of spontaneous action! When not in use, zip it into your coat and keep it warm; take it out when you're ready. Even works with a gloved hand. With this case, the start and stop button is accessible with no modification.
Dell Axim Armband Case: Work Out with It February 11, 2007 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
Beltclip cases for the axim (I have a 51v) are less than satisfactory in my opinion, offering little security (many of the beltclips are even plastic) and not enough portability, especially given that I don't always wear belted pants. Perhaps this is a sexist thing, they're assuming everyone has belt loops but I certainly don't have very many pants or skirts which have them. Plus I work with kids and if I leave the Axim sitting around or in its cradle at my desk, it will be stolen for sure (as has happened to me before...thank goodness I got it back).
And though the Dell Axim is certainly not famous for having wonderful battery life, with a extra battery it works wonderfully as an mp3 player during an intense gym workout. But having the pda strapped to the waist could be very jarring for the device as I go from treadmill to bicycle and is not how I want to treat my $400++ dollar baby. It was time for something else. After considering my options I knew that I wanted something slick (no fanny packs for your head :-) , something that was out-of-the-way kind of portable, and something very secure. My axim literally flew off my waist once with one of those crummy belt clips...never again.
This Sportline MP3 holder certainly wasn't easy to find but is just what I have been looking for. They don't seem to make any armband cases specifically for the Dell Axim (like they do for iPods for example), but this will stretch to accomodate pretty much any such size device and hold it securely in place. The band has a good velcro attachment and is adjustable. The case has a very nice magnetic closure. I keep my axim x51v in one of those flexiskin silicone cases for that extra bit of protection, especially for when I take it out of the armband holder. The holder fits the axim with flexiskin very nicely. I know several people who own Palms in various versions, so I'm familar with their sizes as well. They would fit securely in this case. While (as I pointed out above) the Axim has terrible battery life (especially with music and video) and needs the additional power, I don't know if an axim (or any other PDA) would fit in the Sportline with a chunky extra battery attached. Especially given that the flexibility of the holder is in the mesh sides and therefore it is flexible along only that one dimension (width or length, however you are looking at it).
Hope you find this information helpful. Thanks for reading.
