 Works well but not for heavy luggage December 13, 2008

The strap is strong but the plastic clasp is not. We had two of these on a trip to Paris, and loaded our luggage close to the maximum weight allowed by the airlines. The plastic clasp broke on both straps. The clasp is not heavy-duty REI-quality high-durability plastic, so this is really not suitable for high-weight luggage.

This is a great product! The belt cinches tightly and holds the luggage well, thereby protecting it a bit more from the ravages of air travel. In addition, choosing a bright color makes it much easier to spot your luggage on the carousel.

I used this strap all across Europe and it never failed. The best part is its sturdiness but it was also very helpful to identify my luggage at the Airports.

This belt arrived promptly and was used for a trip almost immediately. It is sufficiently adjustable to fit very large bags. I had previously had to fabricate a custom strap, which TSA stole. The buckle latch prong material could be improved to provide a more positive latch-up and allow more tension in the belt when applied to the luggage.
